In 1999 I created my first Soul Shaker Spirit Rattle, which
evolved from my natural fascination and experimentation with
clay. For centuries in many different cultures all over the
world, rattles have been used to make music and in spiritual
and healing ceremonies. Through my own process of
personal growth and play, I have discovered that these Soul
Shaker Spirit Rattles can also be used as a very active and
soothing form of meditation - as a physical distraction to
help focus the mind...

Soul Shaker Spirit Rattles
are handcrafted from clay, filled with clay beads, decorated
with symbols and then burnished to make the surface smooth.
Some are then pit-fired in sawdust and others are decorated
with glaze and raku fired.
Fitting wonderfully in the hand, Soul Shaker Spirit Rattles are both a tactile
sculpture and a rattle.
There are Yin-Yang, Goddess and various ocean themes. Each
Soul Shaker Spirit Rattle looks, feels and sounds different, resonating
with its own unique soul.
